     Brian Rowe

  • Introduction: Welcome home, Brian Rowe an exceptional multi-sport athlete from Jay M. Robinson High School in Concord, North Carolina. His athleticism and versatility immediately pop off the screen. In his final 2 years of high school ball he accounted for a whopping 96 receptions for 1,998 yards and 26 touchdowns. That speed is going to be put to use as he will potentially see time at punt returner as he housed three this past season alone. Has a basketball background that contributes significantly to his game, his hand-eye coordination, leaping ability, timing, and footwork. This theme of basketball players excelling at wide receiver is seen in other Gamecock greats like Sidney Rice and Alshon Jeffery. While Rowe is still somewhat raw and learning the nuances of the receiver position, his potential is undeniable. Early reports out of Columbia are that he turned heads at bowl practice. Multiple sources within the program have been impressed by his work ethic and maturity. A phenomenal start for the lightning quick true freshman.

  • Recruitment: Rowe’s commitment to South Carolina is significant for multiple reasons. His commitment marks a breakthrough for the Gamecocks, who have struggled to recruit from the tar heel state in recent years. Rowe is the first North Carolina high school commit since 2021, signaling a potential turning point in the program's regional recruiting efforts.  Rowe committed to South Carolina on April 9, being the second commitment of the class. Citing the family-like atmosphere and strong support system within the program as key factors. He expressed excitement about contributing to the team and believes the environment at South Carolina will position him for success at the next level. “South Carolina just made me feel at home. I love the team bond, the love coaches give to every player. No one is left out” Rowe said. Rowe's relationship with Furrey and Beamer played a significant role in his decision to commit to South Carolina. "He’s a great guy, he teaches me a lot on and off the field and he has gained my trust to put me where I need to be ," Rowe said of his receivers coach. It's the same feeling with Beamer. "He has trust in me to help the team out and I have trust in him to make me better," Rowe said. "Can't wait to play for him." Highlighting the confidence he has in the coaching staff to elevate his game. His journey from North Carolina to South Carolina marks a promising chapter for both the player and the program.

  • Strength and Skills: Rowe's athleticism is truly remarkable. He possesses off the charts "bunnies," as evidenced by multiple videos from camps where he appears to be jumping into the clouds, almost floating through the air. He played on the 7v7 circuit against high-level corners this past summer, gaining invaluable experience in one-on-one matchups more than holding his own. His vertical leap might be the highest on the team from day one, a testament to his extraordinary physical capabilities. Rowe makes the game look effortless, with a speed and grace that stands out on the field. Comparisons to former Gamecock receiver Shi Smith have been made, as Rowe’s ability to make difficult catches at his size and his explosion off the line of scrimmage are reminiscent of Smith's. He is what you call an “easy mover” who seems to effortlessly move in and out of breaks. Yes the route tree still needs to be polished and expanded but that can be taught unlike most of the skills he possesses. His high school coach Jason Seidel who has seen a lot of football said “In my 23 years, he’s probably one of the best athletes I’ve ever been around,”. Once it fully clicks for this kid you better watch out.
